Technical Lead

​​The role and key areas of responsibility:

As a technical lead your primary responsibility is to oversee the technical development. This means that you will define best practices and direction of the technical development and ensure that those are followed. You also have a highly collaborative technical role. While the majority of your time will be spent with technical development, communication within the team as well as with other stakeholders on technical aspects will be a significant part of your role.


You will work closely with the Product Manager, taking responsibility for overall technical development and take part in creating the product roadmap. You will also be responsible for collecting and aggregating feedback from engineers within your discipline. You will be both hands on and driving initiatives in development of structure, tools, test automation, standards and processes to ease yours and other engineers’ day to day and ensure quality and consistency in the software developed within your discipline.

Last but not least, an important part of your role will be to balance short and long term initiatives. There will be times when you will be required to make short term tradeoffs and there will be initiatives that will require a long term vision.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical development within your discipline

  • Incorporate feedback from engineers and other tech leads in direction and roadmap

  • Define and implement tools, best practices and test automation to ease day to day and QA

  • Driving necessary initiatives to ensure best practices and direction are followed

  • Defining requirements and expectations in recruiting new engineers within discipline

  • Identify and ensure relevant tutoring for engineers in need of it and

  • Recurring 1on1’s with engineers

  • Goal and career management with engineers

  • Recruitment planning​

Your background:

  • Experience from working in a startup

  • 2-4 years of progressive responsibilities in software development with experience in management

  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust and strong cross-functional relationships across the company
